A timely response...

The project on Fifth Street was a direct result of the successful and timely completion of Marion Ridpath’s project. Local newspapers had carried the story about Marion and local residents were beginning to learn of the Foundation’s charitable work. Debbie Peterson, a homeowner, was in desperate need of a new roof.

She had contacted many agencies in the area in hopes of finding someone who could help her, but was entirely unsuccessful. Upon reading the story of Marion Ridpath in the local newspaper, she wrote a letter to The Hands Foundation telling of her situation.

The roof was in dreadful condition with many leaks in the ceiling and concerns for the structural integrity of the roof arose after an initial inspection by Hands Foundation workers. It was clear that the roof needed immediate attention. The house’s roof was not even safe for habitation.

Through generous donations and tireless volunteer help, The Hands Foundation was able to complete the project speedily. The Peterson family now has a new roof.
