First Projects in Minneapolis UnderwayMay 15, 2010
by Darrell Marrier @ 8:23 am

We are excited to announce our first projects are underway in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. In conjunction with the Fragile CD release show on May 15th, we wanted to raise some awareness and funding for the foundation. Proceeds from this show will go to the foundation.
These projects continue our new commitment to accessibility. The first project is located in St. Paul for an 83 year old woman named Leila. She has lived in her two story home in Frogtown since 1965 and finds it harder these days to make it up to the second floor. This happens to be where her only working bathroom is. We have set about remodeling the bathroom downstairs and making a few other adjustments to make it easier for Leila to stay in her home as she grows older. We found out about this project with the help of Charles Braun from Equal Access Homes. He not only found the projects, but also donated his time to help us complete them. We’ll have more on Leila and the work of Charles Braun coming soon.
The second project is in Burnsville, MN and is another bathroom remodel for Bethany Demaster. Bethany was born with Spina Bifida and has been in a wheelchair her whole life. This project will make it easier for Bethany to live independently. There will be photos and more info added for this project soon. We continue to look for ways to expand the foundation and appreciate those who have supported us and those who will in the future. There will soon be a way for you to donate to the foundation directly through this site. 100% of your donations go directly toward materials needed for these and other projects we do. Thank you.
