August 5, 2014
July 30,2014 – Memphis, TN - As part of their (7/12) benefit concert to transform the historic Ashlar Hall into a military veterans center, national touring band Rosewater delivered over 400 personal items to a local homeless veteran support agency. Alpha Omega Veterans Services, a local non-profit “dedicated to providing disabled and displaced veterans” was the recipient of the donated goods, which included blankets, patchwork quilts, bed linens, and clothing. “I want to thank this band, states Jerome Hardaway, AOVS Marketing Manager. “They are doing incredible work and we thank them for their support.”
In 2011 Rosewater founding members Darrell and Chauncey Marrier created the “Homeless Veterans Project” an extension of their own (Hands Foundation) to raise awareness on the shocking number of homeless veterans in the United States. Their current music release, Shotgun Wedding is a concept album inspired largely to support their advocacy work for veterans. To support their “Shotgun Wedding Reception” tour, the Marrier brothers created a themed concert event that incorporates a wedding reception, whereby fans can bring gifts in the form of personal items that are donated to various homeless veterans agencies in each tour market.
